| Custom Online Course Delivery |
Over the years, we have developed a proven and effective online course
delivery model. Our delivery model combines self-paced materials and practical
hands-on assignments with instructor mentoring via email, audio or text
chat and discussion boards. This model delivers consistently high student
satisfaction rates, high student completion rates and high student success
rates. We also have the capability to develop and deliver quality, self-paced
solutions. Our course delivery model features:
We have developed a structure for presenting self-paced course readings.
These readings can contain comprehensive readings, graphics, web links,
interactive client or server-based quizzes, learning activities, and Flash
tutorials. In some cases, such as memory tasks, we have developed server-based
marking quizzes to reduce the need for instructor intervention and standardize
the certification process. In most cases, however, we have found that
these self-paced readings form the foundation for meaningful learning
when coupled with practical hands-on assignments that allow students to
practice the skills they are learning and to receive feedback from qualified
instructors or mentors.
In the traditional classroom, most people would agree that instructors
are invaluable. In the online delivery of education, we believe instructors
take on an even more important role. In fact, we believe the use of mentors
are key to increasing satisfaction rates and reducing dropout rates. In
our delivery model, instructors are used to:
— Motivate students to complete their online studies
— Guide students through their online learning experience
— Provide students with timely expert advice when they need it
— Provide students with individual feedback on their assignments
so that they can improve
This blend of self-paced learning coupled with instructor mentoring represents
a "win-win" for both student and instructor. Students can move
through the materials at their own pace but receive personalized advice,
motivation and feedback when they need it. Instructors are relieved from
the drudgery of teaching basic concepts over and over again, but are able
to actively participate in more rewarding exchanges between students.
From an administrative perspective, this results in:
— Lower development costs
— Lower delivery costs compared to classroom training
— Increased satisfaction rates
— Reduced dropout rates
Using this delivery model enables you to certify both memory-based and
judgment-based learning. Memory-based learning's (e.g. facts & figures,
names, places) can be marked using automated server-marked technologies,
while judgment-based learning (e.g. case studies, subjective topics, analysis,
design) can be marked using qualified mentors. As a result, you can be
confident that your students are meeting their learning objectives.
