User Interface Analysis Course
"...Really useful. The
audio conference with the instructor is an excellent idea. Real
bonus to speak with a highly experienced professional in the
field. As good as face-to-face tutorial or lecture. I feel I
have been on a real course. Thanks to both Hans & Doug!"

Anyone who has ever tried to program a VCR has probably experienced
bad user interface design. So how can you avoid these interface
disasters in your own projects? How do you ensure that your product
will meet user expectations? What types of analysis can you do to
avoid mistakes? This course examines these issues and teaches you
how to perform user interface analysis.
User Interface Analysis is a 4-week online course designed
to teach you how to gather and analyze information used in the design
of user interfaces. You will gain an understanding of the overall
user interface design process by learning how to conduct secondary
research, how to conduct user role, function and task analysis,
and how to produce the required outputs from those activities. By
the end of this course, you will have produced a user role analysis
report, a user functional analysis report, and a user task analysis
report.

I felt the course, the instructor and the content were excellent.
The combination of the instructor's knowledge along with the quality
of the course material exceeded all expectations when starting the
class. The hand-written feedback was very effective as it allowed
each student the opportunity to see in a highlighted format the
areas they could improve upon. Excellent overall first impression.
I found members of your company accessible from beginning to end.
You have a fine selection of courses and a format that I believe
others would find appealing. -- Harry
I really liked the self-paced
format. Having the material available via download and online made
it useful to access from various places. The assignments were a
good way to apply the concepts. -- Susan
The reason I would recommend this course is because it helps you
to learn things for yourself and does not impose rules. The course
was really good and I look forward to doing my next course with
the you. Good on you. -- Zurika
I liked the chats with Hans and formatting the homework in a report
form (as if you were turning it in to a real customer) the best.
I thoroughly enjoyed the course and the course materials. I'm sure
I will refer to them often. Thank you. -- Karen
Practical and useful information. Good instruction where needed.
I enjoyed the course and methods of delivery. The instructor was
very knowledgeable and helpful. I liked the readings (esp. the example
reports, which tied the materials to the project). When the time
is right, I will likely take another course (or more). -- Doug
I really enjoyed the teleconferences with Dr. Bergman. He is such
a dynamic speaker and the chats were very interesting. I wish there
had been more teleconferences. The chats and deliverables were the
most effective because of the feedback. Very enjoyable way to take
a course. I hope to take Part II of the course in a few months.
Thank you! -- Kathleen
