Online-Learning
Announces... New Information Design Program
Ottawa, April
15th, 2003: Online-Learning.com
announces a new online Information Design Program. The program teaches
students how to create online and traditional information documents. There
are five mandatory courses and one elective course in the program. Mandatory
courses include Technical Writing, Graphics For Non-Designers, User Interface
Design, User Interface Analysis and Usability Testing. Students may choose
one elective course from Web-Based Training Design, Online Help System
Design or Advanced XML Authoring.
The program contains approximately 400 hours of training and is flexibly
packaged to meet the needs of today's learners. Students can take courses
either part-time or full-time and have up to 18 months to complete the
entire program.
All of the courses are taught over the Internet using an instructor-led
teaching approach. Students work through the course materials at their
own pace, submitting assignments based on a preset schedule. Instructors
provide support and motivation throughout each course. Students receive
detailed feedback on each assignment. In addition, audio and/or text chat
sessions are scheduled for those students who prefer to interact with
their classmates in a real-time setting. The approach has received high
praise from students and has helped Online-Learning achieve student completion
rates of 75-85%.
The program is certified by universities in Canada and the United States.
Students completing the program can pursue careers in technical writing,
human factors or information design.
