As a business professional, you’ll probably be asked to create reports and present their findings. Unfortunately, good report writing and presentation preparation skills are usually learned “on-the-fly” through “trial-and-error”. If you’re looking to improve these skills, then this course is for you.
Business Writing II is a 6-week online business writing course designed to teach you how to write effective reports and presentations. You’ll learn basic writing techniques such as how to use active voice, how to apply the 6 C’s of writing, how to avoid using jargon or offensive phrases, and how to write with a YOU attitude! You’ll also learn about common report and presentation formats.
You’ll develop your report writing skills by practicing what you’ve learned in three assignments.
- In assignment one, you’ll produce an informal report.
- In assignment two, you’ll write a formal report.
- In assignment three, you’ll produce a presentation based on one of your reports.

- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

About the Instructor
The instructor will guide you throughout the course by providing one-to-one mentoring. During the course, the instructor will answer your questions by email, provide you with feedback on your assignments, and lead optional text chat sessions to discuss the materials and assignments.
